terrorist

This picture above really grabbed my attention. It’s because, firstly, the stencil on the wall behind the kid is the image of Leila Khaled, the iconic persona from the sacred land of Palestine. Secondly, my wife’s name is Nur Leila Khalid and she also mentioned earlier that her father purposely named her after that particular person. For me, it was one hell of an interesting fact to know about a father named his heir after a ‘terrorist’ instead of the so called spacemen, intellectuals, academicians, professionals or ministers’ name.

But surely, one man’s meat is another man’s poison. So in this case it would be: One man’s saviour is another man’s terrorist.

By the way, “I am not a terrorist” tag written next to the image tells exactly about the whole truth behind its legendary aspect.

Read here to know more.

And for my wife, what a cool name you have my dear…

Sahur.

Atau download lagu B606 kat sini, owner blog In Noise We Crust yang letak. Jangan tanya aku siapa dia ni,
aku tak kenal; walaupun nama blog dia nak dekat sama dengan nama blog aku. Dan seperti yang aku cakap awal tadi, tiada tujuan yang tepat kenapa aku letak gambar ni... mungkin aku rindu kat diorang ni kot?

Siapa? Haha. Gambar di ambil sekitar tahun 2000, mungkin. Tak kenal Masskontroll? Klik di sini.

Revolusi '48.

Texts below taken from the director himself:

"The sequel to Fahmi Reza's cult favourite 10 Tahun Sebelum Merdeka, Revolusi '48 chronicles the largely forgotten armed revolution for national liberation launched against British colonial rule in Malaya 60 years ago.
This documentary tells the untold story of those who struggled in the anti-colonial guerrilla war of independence, during the Malayan Revolution of 1948. Coming 20th October 2008 on Youtube!".

on a gift and a birthday cake

Friends asked me what was the thing happened during my first birthday of being a husband. Well, as I’m not keen to celebrate it since ages ago, the feeling would be slightly the same even though Leila eagerly wants me to celebrate and offered me cake. But, upon her disappointment I dislike cake; the sweet stuff doesn’t go well for my taste bud. Hate to admit that I’m gradually not a sweet tooth kind of person, though I love to observe on how these sweet foods have been decorated in order to stimulate the appetite of those who loves it, the overwhelming donuts that plundered the food industry of Klang Valley tells it precisely, name it from Dunkin’ to Big Apple to J.Co etc. I know Leila very much love it, but it’s certainly not for me, it’s hard to see I may possibly consume the one whole piece of it. So, I refused to have a cake for my birthday (as well as donuts)… and to some extents I’ve also rejected the idea of her in getting me a brand new guitar as a birthday present, either acoustic or electric, even I want it as much as I love to strum and serenade it in front of her, I’m just dislike the idea of wasting money on something that’s not so important. Is it? But why? I just don’t know, maybe it’s just my feeling that said I shouldn’t be as selfish as I was when I’m still bachelor; anything would be fine if I spent the whole money for myself alone but not now since I’m married, I have to think twice for every hard-earned penny I’d be spent. I just don’t care about those gifts or cakes for birthday anymore as I reckon the best gift ever that I have is Leila as my wife is purely priceless and most precious to this day.

Eid is just seven days away, so it’s such a super thrilling to the bone as I will celebrate it as a husband for the first time. What would it be anyway?

I'm curious to know.

Fin.

raya

paranoia

I made up this one in order to represent the political situation that we're dealing currently. The two exact similar characters on which created upon reflection are 'the paranoia brothers' that have their own agenda by themselves. The gas mask is a metaphor of a defensive and the machine gun is a metaphor of an offensive behaviour.

I have no trust in any government and never will be, though whatever the end result is I hope everything will be okay for the sake of people who desperately wanted the ‘drastic change’.

+ Okay, happy birthday to me, 20.9.08; the first birthday of being a husband for someone is truly something.
